Yifan Wu

Born into a non-musical family, Yifan Wu began his professional study of piano at the age of 14. Enrolled by the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2019, he is currently a student of Professor Yunlin Yang, a famous piano educator and Master's advisor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Feeling he started later than his peers, he studied intensively and with much passion for music, receiving various awards and scholarships in school.

He has successively won several prizes recently, including the 1st prize and the Classical Sonata prize in the 2023 5th Singapore International Piano Competition, the 1st prize of Group C in the 2022 10th Steinway National Youth Piano Competition China, the 1st prize of the professional Concerto group in the 11th Shenzhen Piano Open Competition, and the 1st prize of the 29th International Chopin Piano Competition for Youth in China.

Yifan has performed in many cities both in China and abroad, including Shanghai, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Singapore; in concert venues such as Sota Concert Hall in Singapore, Qintai Grand Theatre in Wuhan, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, and He Lvting Concert Hall in the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. His concerto performances with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra were highly praised by the audience.

Besides piano playing, he is also a keen lover of contemporary art forms such as photography, winning several international awards and titles like the 2022 Architecture Photographer of the Year in the International Photography Awards. His works have been exhibited in New York, Shanghai, and Budapest.
