Patrons & Friends

Every three years since 1986, the SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION (SIPC) has been held in Glasgow attracting many of the world’s most brilliant young concert pianists to Scotland.

The next competition will be held from 1st to 10th September 2017 The Competition has,  over the years,  enabled many young professional musicians to gain recognition at an early stage n their careers. In 2017 the competition will include three recital rounds to be held at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. A final concerto performance or three competitors,  who will be accompanied by The Royal Scottish National orchestra will take place at the Royal Concert Hal. Performances are judged by a jury composed of internationally recognised eminent musicians.

Maintaining the Competition’s high standards requires considerable financial backing.  Patrons and Friends play an extremely important part in this,  making an important financial contribution towards the running costs.  They also provide great support as the throughout the competition as hosts for competitors and as volunteers,  without whom our competition could not survive.  Patrons and Fren enjoy attending special concerts and receptions as recognition of their valued support.

As a Patron/Friend you will receive

  • advance notice of,  and priority booking for early stage recitalsin the Competition (2complimentary tickets for Gold Patrons)
  • complimentary tickets for the Concerto Final at bring thi the Royal Concert Hall (up to 4 tickets for Gold Patrons and 2 for Patrons)
  • invitations to receptions organised prior to, or during, the competition
  • periodic newsletters to keep you informed about the competition, past competitors and concerts or events that my be of iterest.

We hope you will continue your support or become an SIPCPatron/Friend in order that the Competition may continue to flourish.  any memorable recital and concerto performances have been given by competitors since the first competition in 1986 and past winners and competitors can often be heard on concert platforms throughout the world.
