Maxim Kinasov

Maxim Kinasov is an award-winning solo and chamber musician who performs a wide range of repertoire from Bach to contemporary composers. Born in Moscow, he made his recital debut at the age of ten. Commended by Leslie Howard for "intelligent, brilliant, and compelling music-making from start to finish" (Musical Opinion Magazine) and described as a "supreme story-teller” (Christopher Axworthy, Keyboard Charitable Trust), he is one of the most exciting young pianists of his generation.

Maxim is the First Prize Winner of more than 10 prestigious international piano competitions around the world, including the 2022 Birmingham International Piano Competition, the 2022 Windsor International Piano Competition in the UK, and the 2019 Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition, and the 2014 Chopin Roma International Piano Competition in Italy. He also won Second Prizes at the prestigious 2019 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition (UK) and the 2015 Gian Battista Viotti International Piano Competition (Italy).

In 2017, he graduated with distinction from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in the class of Sergei Dorensky and moved to the UK to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in the class of Ashley Wass. In 2018, Maxim won the RNCM Gold Medal and played in the Gold Medal Winners concert at Wigmore Hall in the Spring of 2019. He was selected as a Kirckman Concert Society Artist for 2019-20 and played his full-length solo debut at Wigmore Hall in October 2019. Additionally, Maxim was one of the artists invited to perform at the 2020 Hastings International Piano Digital Festival, alongside notable musicians such as Rufus Wainwright and Vanessa Latarche. In October 2021, Maxim was invited to headline at the launch concert for the 2022 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition at The White Rock Theatre in Hastings, along with the European Union Chamber Orchestra.

In November 2021, he completed his International Artist Diploma degree at the RNCM, making his debut recording of César Franck's Symphonic Variations with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, which took place at the MediaCityUK BBC Studios in Salford.

Maxim has performed internationally with the most prestigious orchestras in the UK and abroad, such as the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hallé, the RNCM Symphony Orchestra, the St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice.

Most recently, Maxim won First Prize at the Windsor International Piano Competition, after which he signed a contract with the KNS Classical record label to release his debut album. Maxim has appeared on Italian TV channels TG2 RAI and TGVercelli, and on BBC Radio 3.
