Education

Every third year since 1986 this Competition has attracted some of the world's most gifted young concert pianists to Glasgow to compete for the prizes and gain recognition at an early stage in their careers. During this highly intensive period in September these young musicians display their creativity and musical mastery in front of a Jury composed of internationally eminent musicians.

The work of the SIPC organisation continues to promote piano playing opportunities in the period between each Competition. This is undertaken in partnership with the RSAMD and includes recitals given by RSAMD students to further develop their public performance skills.

In addition, as part of the SIPC's outreach programme, recital workshops are held in secondary schools enabling RSAMD staff and students to engage with school pupils who are studying piano as part of their music curriculum.
