Dongyoung Kim

Dongyoung Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 2001. He has performed in solo recitals in many concert halls, including Kumho Art Hall, Kumho Yonsei Art Hall, Win Art Hall, Seoul Art High School Young Artist Concert Hall, and Yamaha Concert Hall.

He is a prize winner in numerous competitions, including the Korea Steinway competition, Shinhan Music Award, Shin So Jung Prize in Seoul Art High School, and Teenager Music Competition. He is a 2018 Scholar in the Chung Mong-Koo Foundation and a 2022 Scholar of KB Bank Scholarship Foundation. Additionally, he has given many performances with various ensembles, including LG Music School Ensemble, Seoul Art High School Ensemble, and Juilliard Ensemble.

He attended Yewon School and Seoul Art High School and studied with Professor Minsoo Son at Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA). He made his orchestral debut at the age of 15 with the KNIGA Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, he moved to the USA and began working with Professor Hung-Kuan Chen for his Bachelor's degree at The Juilliard School. He graduated from The Juilliard School in May 2023, winning the Arthur Rubinstein Prize. He will begin his Master's degree at New England Conservatory with Dang Thai Son in the autumn of 2023.
